Primrose Prep was created by Rachel Couffignals, an Oxford-educated prep-school specialist and former Head of Lower School at Wetherby Prep in London. Having taught and held leadership positions in both prep and senior school settings, Rachel has mentored pupils who have progressed to selective senior schools such as Eton, Harrow and St Paul’s.

Rachel raised her own children through an independent school in Kensington and saw first-hand how children flourish in environments that combine structured teaching, clear academic expectations, and accelerated learning.

After relocating to the UAE, Rachel recognised that many families struggled to maintain the academic clarity, pace, and discipline characteristic of top UK independent schools. Primrose Prep was founded to offer tuition and advisory rooted in genuine UK independent-school expectations rather than generic tutoring. Each tutor has been personally selected for their depth of experience and ability to elevate ambitious pupils through thoughtful, high-impact one-to-one tuition.
